Who you are dealing with

BoardUI is a trade name, not a company. The business behind it is a Dutch sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) run by Mertcan Dundar Esmergul, registered with the Chamber of Commerce in the Netherlands.

The business operates from a private residence, so the postal address is not published here. It is on the Chamber of Commerce register, and we will provide it in writing to anyone with a genuine need for it, including for a formal notice or a consumer complaint. Email is the fastest way to reach us either way.

What these terms cover

They apply whenever you use this website, install BoardUI with the CLI, or buy a licence. If you do not agree with them, do not use BoardUI.

Three documents work together. These terms cover the relationship and the purchase. The licence covers what you may do with the code. The privacy policy covers what we do with personal data. Where the licence says something more specific about the code, the licence wins.

The free components

A substantial part of BoardUI is free and needs no account, no email address and no payment. Install it, use it commercially, keep it.

We intend to keep the free tier free. We may still change which components sit in it, rename things, or stop publishing something. Anything you have already installed is unaffected, because it lives in your repository rather than ours.

Buying BoardUI Pro

Checkout, payment, invoicing and licence keys are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record. That means Lemon Squeezy is the seller named on your invoice, collects the payment, and handles VAT and sales tax for your country. Their terms apply to the payment itself, and these terms and the licence apply to the product.

• Prices are shown in euro. Tax is added or included at checkout according to where you are.
• Your invoice comes from Lemon Squeezy, and can be re-downloaded from the link in your receipt email.
• Payment gives you a licence key. The CLI exchanges that key for the Pro source.
• A licence key activates a limited number of machines. Running the logout command frees a seat if you change computer.

We can correct an obvious pricing error before delivering, and we may decline or cancel an order if we reasonably believe it is fraudulent or intended to redistribute the source.

Withdrawal and refunds

BoardUI Pro is digital content delivered immediately. At checkout you ask for that immediate delivery and confirm that you lose the statutory fourteen day right of withdrawal once it starts. That is what makes instant access possible, and it is why sales are final once the source has been delivered.

If the source has not been delivered yet, the fourteen day right still stands and you can withdraw by emailing us. Consumer rights that cannot be waived are unaffected by anything on this page.

Separately from all of that: if something is broken, missing or not as described, tell us. We would rather fix it, or refund you, than have you stuck with something that does not work. Everything the paid tiers build on is free to try first, so you can read the code and judge the conventions before paying.

Support

Support is one person, and it is best effort. Ask in the Discord, or email hi@boardui.com with your order email and what is happening. There is no guaranteed response time, no service level agreement, and no promise of a fix for a particular problem.

We do not do custom development, design work or integration as part of a licence.

Using the website and the CLI

Do not:

• Try to reach the Pro source without a valid licence, including by probing the licence or registry endpoints.
• Share, publish or resell licence keys.
• Scrape the site or the registry at a volume that degrades it for other people.
• Interfere with the service, or with anyone else's use of it.

We may suspend access, revoke a licence key, or block an IP address if any of this happens, and we will say why when we do.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the site and the registry up, but we do not guarantee it. Hosting, payments and delivery all depend on third parties, and any of them can have a bad day.

BoardUI changes over time. Components get redesigned, renamed, deprecated or removed, and prices and plans change. None of that reaches back into what you have already installed or already paid for.

Disclaimer and liability

The website, the CLI and the source are provided as is, without warranty of any kind. You are responsible for what you ship and for testing it.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability arising from BoardUI is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost data or business interruption. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or the statutory rights of consumers in the EU.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page always says when they last changed, and material changes will be announced on the site or by email to licence holders. Changes are not retroactive: the version in force when you bought governs that purchase.

Governing law and disputes

Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer rules give you the right to bring a claim in your own country.

If you are a consumer in the EU and we cannot resolve something between us, you can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform. We would much rather you emailed us first.
